The President of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidan, offered on Thursday condolences to the Islamic world and religious seminaries following the passing of senior religious authority, Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyadh (may Allah have mercy on him), affirming that the late scholar left a significant scientific and jurisprudential legacy.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Zidan said: “With hearts filled with faith in Allah’s will and decree, we received the news of the passing of the esteemed religious authority, Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyadh (may Allah have mercy on him), who left behind a major scholarly and jurisprudential legacy and a life full of dedication and service to Islam and Muslims.”
He added: “We extend our condolences to the Islamic nation, the religious seminaries, his students, and his admirers on this painful loss. We ask Almighty Allah to envelop him in His vast mercy, grant him a place among the righteous, and inspire everyone with patience and solace.”
