Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed on Tuesday that Moscow is ready to hold peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022 and on the realities on the ground.
Putin stated that "Russia is open to negotiations with Kyiv based on the Istanbul agreements," noting that "any peace talks must be based on the current situation on the ground."
He added, "The threats that the Kyiv regime is trying to create must be reduced," pointing out that "Russian military units are continuing their advance daily."
He indicated that "attacks and strikes on civilian targets will not affect the course of events on the line of contact;" emphasizing that "Russia will continue to move in various directions, relying on the stability of its economy and the achievements of its armed forces."
Putin continued, stating that "attacks targeting children will only strengthen the position of Russian forces on the battlefield," explaining that "the Kyiv regime can only be described as a neo-Nazi regime."
