Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed on Tuesday the existence of subversive elements seeking to undermine the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington.

Sharif stated in a press conference with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There are subversive elements that want to sabotage the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States," noting that "Pakistan wishes to continue its role until lasting peace is achieved."

"War in the region could have destroyed everything," he added, praising "the support provided by the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt in reaching peace."

"Convey my message to the Supreme Leader that Iran has managed to reach a ceasefire and a memorandum of understanding while preserving its dignity," he continued, pointing out that "the Iranian people are courageous, and their country possesses the resources and will soon be among the fastest-growing economies."

"The memorandum of understanding does not address Iran's ballistic missile program." Sharif concluded.
