The Iraqi Drilling Company announced on Wednesday the completion of drilling and rehabilitating 69 oil wells during the first half of this year.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the company said, "In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Oil, Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, and under the supervision of the Director General of the Iraqi Drilling Company, Mohammed Hantoush Asad Al-Azirjawi, the company's technical and engineering staff completed the drilling and rehabilitation of 69 oil wells during the first half of 2026, comprising 12 newly drilled wells and 57 rehabilitated wells, as part of the company's operational plans and in support of the Ministry of Oil's efforts to increase national production."
According to the statement, the Director General said: “These achievements reflect the efficiency of the national staff and the expertise possessed by the Iraqi Drilling Company,” stressing that “the company continues to carry out its work according to the highest technical and operational standards, ensuring the completion of projects with high efficiency and quality.”
It added that "the company is continuing to enhance its operational capabilities, improve the readiness of drilling and reclamation equipment, and develop its technical capabilities, enabling it to meet the requirements of the oil sector and expand the implementation of projects, in line with the Ministry of Oil's plans aimed at increasing production and maximizing reliance on national effort."
