BAGHDAD – INA
The Ministry of Oil announced on Tuesday the success of the Basrah Gas Company (BGC) in resuming the loading and exporting of a condensate shipment. The resumption follows a forced suspension triggered by the repercussions of the Gulf War and subsequent shipping and export challenges in the region.
The Ministry’s Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, Ezzat Saber Ismail, stated in an official release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the Basrah Gas Company successfully completed the loading operations for the tanker Dakosh with a volume of 50,000 cubic meters of condensates." He emphasized that "the operation was executed successfully, fully aligning with tender requirements as well as approved technical and commercial standards."
He added that "the tanker departed today following the completion of all technical and logistical procedures," noting that "this achievement was realized through the Ministry's oversight, the dedication of BGC personnel, and continuous coordination with relevant stakeholders in partner companies, effectively overcoming obstacles and ensuring smooth export flows."
He stressed that "achievements secured during times of crisis serve as a testament to success, perseverance, and a high sense of responsibility," expressing hope for "the steady continuation of tanker loading and maritime flows in the coming days to enhance export stability and fulfill obligations to contracting parties."
He pointed out "the ongoing commitment of both the Ministry and the Basrah Gas Company to support gas investment operations and maximize the utilization of hydrocarbon products, thereby boosting national revenues and reinforcing Iraq’s energy sector."
