Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, is hosting representatives from over 90 countries and 60 Russian regions at the "Russia - Islamic World" forum, which launched today in its 17th edition.

The events of the "Russia - Islamic World" forum will run until May 17, with the two-day economic program scheduled to commence on May 14.

Key highlights include a meeting of the "Russia – Islamic World" Strategic Vision Group, chaired by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, alongside the forum's plenary session titled "From Points on the Map to Growth Points: Unifying Technological and Financial Initiatives."

For the first time, the forum is hosting a conference for the national banks of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, with the participation of representatives from 24 countries.

The event centers on the theme "Participatory Finance as a Driver for Infrastructure Development and Sustainable Growth," with an added focus on developing the Islamic finance sector.

Additionally, the International Conference of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) on participatory finance and investment is being held in Kazan.

Within the framework of the forum, the Kazan Halal Market exhibition, the "Russia and the Islamic World for Cooperation" exhibition—aimed at promoting investment and infrastructure projects—and the International Real Estate Exhibition are taking place.

The cultural events include the official launch of "Kazan - Capital of Islamic Culture" year, the General Assembly of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and a fashion show.

The 17th International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Forum" serves as the primary platform for economic cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world countries.

The organizers emphasized that the objective of this massive event is to strengthen commercial, economic, scientific, technical, social, and cultural ties between Russia and the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
