Al-Maliki and Al-Badri Discuss Latest Security Developments and Enhancing Coordination Among Security Institutions

The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, discussed on Thursday with the President of the National Security Service, Basim Mohammed Younis Al-Badri, the latest security developments in the country and ways to enhance coordination among security institutions.

According to a statement issued by the media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, received at his office today the President of the National Security Service, Basim Mohammed Younis Al-Badri.”

The statement added that “the meeting reviewed the latest security developments in the country and stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among security institutions in a manner that contributes to consolidating stability and safeguarding Iraq’s security and supreme interests.”

Al-Maliki stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of continuing support for security agencies in carrying out their national duties, enhancing institutional work, and developing security and intelligence capabilities to confront various challenges.”

For his part, the President of the National Security Service highlighted “the agency’s key tasks and its plans to strengthen its role in preserving national security and serving the state and its citizens.”
