Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi discussed on Saturday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in various fields. Erdogan extended an invitation to al-Zaidi to visit Turkey at the earliest opportunity.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who congratulated him on his official appointment to form the new government."
The statement added that "the two sides discussed during the call ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, in a manner that ensures the enhancement of common interests and mutual benefit between the two friendly nations. Erdoğan affirmed his country's support for stability in Iraq and the formation of a new government, and extended an invitation to al-Zaidi to visit Türkiye at the earliest opportunity."
