The Ministry of Oil discussed plans to develop the Al-Gharraf oil field with Malaysian company Petronas on Thursday.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry of Oil said that "the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Naseer Aziz, received the Executive Director of Petronas in Iraq, Bohari Ali."
The statement added that "the Undersecretary listened to a briefing presented by the company's Executive Director, during which he reviewed the plans for implementing the development program for the Al-Gharraf oil field in Dhi Qar Governorate, and the progress of the ongoing work within the field's development phases."
The statement explained that "the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in implementing oil and energy sector projects in Iraq, in a manner that contributes to supporting the sector's development plans and achieving common interests."
