The President of the Republic of Iraq, Nizar Amidi, condemned on Saturday the attacks targeting the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, affirming Iraq's refusal to be an arena for conflicts or a battleground for settling regional scores.
In a post on the (X) platform, which was monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the President said: "We condemn the attacks that targeted the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, and we affirm that any targeting of Iraqi territory, under any pretext, constitutes an unacceptable violation of Iraq's sovereignty and threatens the security and stability of its citizens."
He added, "Iraq refuses to be an arena for conflicts or a battleground for settling regional scores, and reiterates its commitment to relations based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, in a manner that preserves the sovereignty of states and spares the peoples of the region further escalation and instability."
