Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received U.S. Special Presidential Envoy to Iraq Tom Barrack yesterday evening, Monday, Baghdad time, at his residence in Washington, D.C.
Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA "the meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between Iraq and the United States."
The statement also said "the meeting also reviewed the course of economic relations between the two countries, the progress achieved in recent months, and ways to expand areas of cooperation and partnership."
The statement added "the meeting addressed developments in the region and the importance of supporting efforts to strengthen security and stability and reduce tensions, as well as the pivotal role Iraq can play in promoting regional rapprochement and contributing to de-escalation."
