Baghdad – INA
Iraqi Minister of Communications Mustafa Sand on Monday ordered the blocking of all online betting and gambling platforms across Iraq.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Sand said the decision was taken “in the public interest,” aiming to curb the economic risks, digital addiction algorithms, and targeted financial exploitation associated with online betting and gambling, which he said threaten social stability.
He added that he also ordered the removal of restrictions on IMDb, the online film and television rating website.
