The US Central Command announced on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Command said, "The Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels wishing to transit the international waterway legally," adding that "our forces are deployed and ready to ensure the continued freedom of navigation despite Iran's unprovoked aggression."
The statement further noted that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz and maritime traffic continues, pointing out that "more than 140 ships have transited the Strait of Hormuz in the past seven days."
