President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Sunday the importance of the role played by Iraqi diplomatic missions abroad.

The Presidential Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that President Amedi received Ambassador Yasser Al-Hajjaj at Baghdad Palace on the occasion of his assumption of his diplomatic duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The President stressed the importance of the role played by Iraqi diplomatic missions abroad, as they represent the official face of the state.

He emphasized the need to improve the level of consular services, facilitate transactions for Iraqi citizens, and respond to their needs in a way that strengthens their trust in state institutions and reflects the state's responsibility to care for its citizens wherever they may be.

For his part, Ambassador Yasser Al-Hajjaj expressed his appreciation for the President's directives regarding the care of the Iraqi community abroad and the development of bilateral relations.

He affirmed his commitment to working in a way that serves Iraqi citizens and enhances cooperation between the two countries.
