US and Iran expected to continue talks in Oman, CBS News reports
US and Iranian negotiators are expected to continue talks in Oman on Saturday, with CBS News reporting that the US delegation includes Vice President JD Vance, Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi is also in Muscat for consultations on arrangements governing traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reported.
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused Washington of violating the memorandum of understanding through recent air strikes and restrictions on Iranian oil exports.
Baghaei said that Iran did not request negotiations at this stage, but it accepts mediators’ visits to Tehran.
