The Iraqi Athletics Federation announced on Thursday that runner Falah Hassan won the silver medal in the 100m men at the Asian U23 Athletics Championship.

The Championship began on Thursday in the Chinese city of Ordos, where a new Iraqi record of 10.21 seconds was a breaking, thus securing the Asian silver medal, said the Iraqi Athletics Federation's media office in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

Falah finished second after Malaysian runner Muhammad Azim, who won gold with a time of 10.17 seconds, and ahead of Salah Noor of Qatar, who finished third with a time of 10.23 seconds.
