The U.S. military on Wednesday launched strikes against Iranian military targets in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Axios, citing a U.S. official.
The official said that “the U.S. military launched strikes against Iranian military targets in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Separately, the U.S. Central Command announced the start of additional strikes against Iran.
In a statement, Central Command said: “We have begun conducting additional strikes against Iran to undermine its ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
It added: “We are conducting these strikes against Iran under the direction of Commander-in-Chief President Donald Trump.”
The command also said: “We hold Iran responsible for the recent unprovoked aggression against commercial vessels.”
