U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran to end the conflict was "over", adding he didn't want to engage with Tehran.
Trump, in remarks followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “We attacked Iran with great force last night, It had launched missiles at ships, and that is why the United States responded,” adding that “we will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.”
He added: “We have wasted a lot of time with Iran, and we must do our job. I am not happy with NATO because they did not help us get rid of Iran.”
Trump continued: “Spain is a terrible partner in NATO. They don’t participate. They don’t pay. I don’t want anything to do with Spain. Cut off all trade with Spain, please, including visits,” noting that “many NATO countries have paid nothing while we were paying 100% of the alliance’s budget.”
He said the United States had spent more than $1 trillion protecting NATO countries from Russia, “but they did not help us.”
Trump also said: “I believe the memorandum of understanding with Iran has ended, and I do not want to deal with the Iranians.”
