The official spokesperson for the Supreme Committee for the Funeral of the Martyred Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, confirmed that final preparations have been made for receiving the funeral of the martyred Ayatollah this evening at Najaf International Airport. He noted that the official and public funeral processions will begin at 6:00 AM tomorrow, Wednesday.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Maan said, "The Supreme Committee tasked with organizing the funeral of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has concluded two meetings in Najaf and Karbala, attended by the Committee Chairman, Ihsan Al-Awadi, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, to finalize the plan for the official and public funeral processions by integrating all security, service, and technical plans."
He added, "We are now at Najaf Al-Ashraf Airport, where the body of the martyred Sayyid Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will arrive this evening. At six o'clock tomorrow morning, Wednesday, the official and popular funeral ceremonies will begin in Najaf Al-Ashraf, after which we will head to the holy city of Karbala. It is hoped that the funeral ceremonies in Karbala will begin at four o'clock tomorrow afternoon."
