President Nizar Amedi affirmed on Tuesday that completing the resolution of the Yazidi issue is a national imperative that embodies the state's commitment.
The Presidential Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "President Nizar Amedi received a delegation of representatives and officials from the Yazidi community at the Peace Palace in Baghdad."
"The president emphasized that completing the resolution of the Yazidi issue is a national imperative that embodies the state's commitment to providing justice for the victims and requires the concerted efforts of all relevant parties to fulfill the remaining requirements of this matter," according to the statement.
"Achieving stability begins with providing justice for the victims, intensifying search and investigation operations to determine the fate of the missing, creating suitable conditions for the return of Yazidi families to their areas, and providing them with the necessities for a dignified life, thus guaranteeing the preservation of their rights and dignity," he added.
For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his interest in the Yazidi issue and his keenness to follow up on their cases, expressing their "appreciation for his support of the efforts aimed at addressing this issue in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the Yazidi community."
