Drug enforcement officers arrest one of the most dangerous crystal meth dealers in Muthanna

The Directorate of Narcotics Affairs in Al-Muthanna Governorate announced on Monday the arrest of one of the most dangerous drug dealers and the seizure of (2 kg) of crystal meth in his possession.

A statement from the directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the Muthanna Narcotics Affairs Directorate, through intelligence information, was able to apprehend one of the most dangerous suspects in the drug trade, after a field pursuit and chase characterized by accuracy and speed of execution."

It added, “The operation resulted in the seizure of (2 kg) of crystal meth in the possession of the accused, who tried to escape and initiated gunfire towards the executing force, but the detachments dealt with the situation according to the rules of engagement, and were able to hit the tires of the vehicle and arrest him."

It pointed out that "legal measures have been taken against the accused, and he has been referred to the competent judiciary to receive his inevitable fate in accordance with the law."
