President of the Republic Nizar Amedi stated on Tuesday that the 1920 Revolution proved that the will of the people is capable of shaping history, protecting the homeland, and preserving its independence.
He added that “today, we take inspiration from that revolution in our commitment to establishing a strong and just state that places the dignity of citizens and their right to a decent life, security, and justice among its highest priorities.”
“On the anniversary of the historic 1920 Revolution, we recall one of the brightest chapters in Iraq’s history, when the will of Iraqis, with all their diverse communities and groups, united in defense of the nation’s sovereignty and the dignity of its people. Through their sacrifices, they wrote a national epic with their blood — one that continues to inspire generations.”
He added: “The 1920 Revolution proved that Iraq is stronger when its people unite around a common goal, and that the will of the people is capable of shaping history, protecting the homeland, and safeguarding its independence. From this enduring national spirit, we today reaffirm our commitment to building a strong and just state — a state that places citizens’ dignity and their right to a decent life, security, and justice at the forefront of its priorities.”
He continued: “Glory and eternal remembrance to the martyrs of the 1920 Revolution and to all Iraqi martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the nation’s land, unity, and sovereignty.”
