Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi and New Generation Movement leader Shaswar Abdulwahid affirmed their support for government measures in the framework of reform and anti-corruption efforts on Monday.
The Speaker's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi received New Generation Movement leader Shaswar Abdulwahid on Monday."
"The meeting addressed the political situation in the country," noting that "emphasis was placed on the importance of expediting the formation of the cabinet, as well as supporting recent government measures in the framework of reform, anti-corruption efforts, and the protection of public funds, given their significance as a crucial step towards strengthening citizens' trust in state institutions and consolidating the principle of accountability and the rule of law throughout Iraq."
