The Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi, confirmed today, Friday, that nearly five million pilgrims participated in the Ashura pilgrimage. He explained that the directives of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi contributed to the success of the pilgrimage.
Al-Khattabi stated during a press conference attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The directives of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi contributed to the success of the Ashura pilgrimage,” explaining that “nearly five million pilgrims participated in the pilgrimage.”
He pointed out that “the Prime Minister directed all responsible parties to ensure the success of the pilgrimage,” expressing his “gratitude to the holy shrines for their efforts in facilitating the pilgrimage, and also expressing his gratitude to the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces for their contribution to providing security.”
For his part, the head of the Supreme Service Committee, Ali Razouqi, said: “We thank the local government and all the parties that participated in making the visit a success,” indicating that “the Ashura visit represents a miniature version of the Arbaeen visit and received the attention of the Prime Minister.”
