Iraqi champion Mustafa Al-Tikriti was crowned champion of the Muay Thai World Championship held in Kuala Lumpur, after a series of impressive victories in the 81kg weight category.
Al-Tikriti began his campaign by defeating his Brazilian opponent in the quarter-finals before overcoming his Ukrainian counterpart in the semi-finals with a score of 29-28, securing his place in the final on merit.
In the final bout, Al-Tikriti delivered a strong performance against his Russian opponent, winning the contest 30-27 to claim the gold medal and raise the Iraqi flag on the podium.
The achievement is regarded as one of Iraq’s most notable accomplishments in international Muay Thai, highlighting the growing standard of Iraqi athletes in global competitions.
