Baghdad – INA

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Wednesday the resumption of operations by several foreign oil companies in the region.

KRG Spokesperson Peshwa Hawrami stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “HKN has resumed production at a rate of 7,000 barrels per day and will resume production at the Atrush field next Sunday.”

He added: “Gulf Keystone began production today at the Leishkan field, while DNO will resume production at the Tawke and Fishkhabur fields next Friday.”

He continued: “Hunt Oil will resume its operations on July 8th.”

Hawrami explained that “the companies suffered significant damage as a result of previous attacks targeting oil fields, which necessitated the temporary suspension of some operations to rehabilitate and repair the damaged sites. This measure was essential to ensure the safe continuation of production.”
