Member of the Iraqi Parliament and member of the Arab Parliament, Hanan al-Fatlawi, affirmed on Wednesday the support of Iraq and its people, represented by the Parliament, for the Palestinian cause.

"MP Hanan al-Fatlawi, representing Speaker of Parliament Haybat al-Halbousi, participated in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee for the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the Speakers of Arab Parliaments and Councils, which are being held over two days in the Egyptian capital, Cairo," stated the Parliament's Media Office in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement added that "al-Fatlawi discussed with the Arab parliamentary delegations the agenda and final arrangements for the conference, scheduled to be held on the 27th of this month in Cairo, with the participation of the Speakers of Arab Parliaments and Councils and their Secretaries-General."

The preparatory committee discussed the files to be addressed at the conference, about the general situation in the Arab world. Among the most prominent topics are “the adoption of the draft Arab parliamentary vision on digital sovereignty and a draft resolution concerning the formulation of a unified Arab parliamentary stance regarding attacks on the sovereignty of Arab states.”

The committee also considered “a draft resolution on confronting Zionist policies aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and strengthening the Arab parliamentary position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."

Al-Fatlawi, a member of the Arab Parliament, stressed "the necessity of reaching unified Arab positions that reflect the will of the people.

“Iraq and its people, represented by the Parliament and at all levels, for everything that fulfills the aspirations of the Arab peoples regarding various challenges and issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause,” she highlighted.
