President Nizar Amedi said on Tuesday that the Iraq Hajj mission winning the “Labbaytum” award represents an achievement that reflects the country’s commitment to serving pilgrims.
The Presidency of the Republic Media Center said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the President received in Baghdad’s Al-Salam Palace the Head of the Hajj and Umrah Authority Sheikh Sami Al-Masoudi and senior staff of the authority.
He added that “the President praised the efforts of the authority and the dedication of its staff in serving pilgrims. He also received part of the Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba as a gift from the head of the authority, during which the authority’s work, plans and programmes aimed at improving the quality of services were reviewed.”
The President stressed, according to the statement, that “the Hajj and Umrah Authority’s winning of the ‘Labbaytum’ award as the best Hajj mission among Islamic countries’ missions in terms of organizing and services for the fourth consecutive year is an achievement that embodies Iraq’s commitment to serving the guests of Allah, and reflects the scale of efforts exerted and the professional management that has gained wide recognition.”
He added that Al-Masoudi expressed his “gratitude and appreciation to the President for his support and attention,” affirming that “the authority is continuing to implement its development plans and to improve performance and services, in a way that ensures the best possible provision for Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah performers, while maintaining the record of achievements attained through the efforts of all authority staff and the support of state institutions.”
