Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf announced on Monday that an agreement had been reached in Switzerland to release $12 billion in Iran's frozen assets.

In a press statement, Qalibaf said that "the management of the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be the same as it was before the war," stressing that "the Strait will be administered by Iran in accordance with Iranian arrangements while adhering to international law."

He added that "an agreement was reached to establish a communication channel to address any issues that vessels may encounter in the Strait over a 30-day period, enabling the swift handling of any incidents or potential complications."

Qalibaf further stated: "We agreed in Switzerland on the release of $12 billion of our frozen assets."
