The Speaker of the parliament, Mahmoud Al-Halbousi, on Monday discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen joint cooperation with the President of the Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Alsheikh.
According to a statement issued by the Speaker's media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Halbousi held a telephone conversation with Al-Alsheikh, during which the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and explored ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual interest.
According to the statement, Al-Halbousi commended the Kingdom's role in promoting Arab parliamentary performance through its presidency of the union and its contribution to advancing joint parliamentary action.
