U.S. Central Command announced Friday that more than 20 ships safely transited the designated channel in the Strait of Hormuz.

Central Command spokesman Tim Hawkins said in a press briefing, "More than 20 ships safely transited the designated channel in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday."

He added, "All vessels have the right of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz without hindrance."
