The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that claims by some media regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz are false; clarifying that Friday's meeting in Switzerland has been postponed to a later date.

The ministry stated in a press release that "since the memorandum of understanding was signed electronically, holding the meeting in Switzerland is no longer urgent."

It added, "We are planning to hold a meeting for negotiations in the coming days," confirming that "Friday's meeting in Switzerland has been postponed to a later date."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry continued, "Consultations are currently underway through intermediaries to begin the next phase of negotiations to reach a final agreement."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry further stated that "the commencement of negotiations for a final agreement is contingent upon the implementation of the provisions of Articles 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 of the memorandum of understanding."

It concluded by saying, "Claims by some media regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz are false."
