The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation on Thursday of the attacks targeting the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, calling for restraint and unified efforts to end the conflict.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry said it "expresses its deep regret over the renewed escalation in the region and the potentially serious repercussions that threaten regional security and stability, at a time when current circumstances necessitate prioritizing dialogue and wisdom and intensifying efforts to contain tensions."
The Ministry called on all parties to "exercise restraint, unify efforts to end the state of war and escalation, and work towards adopting diplomatic means and peaceful solutions to address existing crises, thereby contributing to strengthening security and stability in the region."
The Ministry emphasized that "the stability of Arab and neighboring countries is an important part of Iraq's stability and national security, which necessitates preserving strategic relations among the countries of the region and safeguarding common interests that serve their peoples and their aspirations for development and prosperity." The ministry warned of the "risks of the region sliding towards a wider confrontation, which could have serious negative repercussions on regional and international security, and stressed the importance of maintaining balance and taking into account the common strategic interests of the various parties, in order to spare the region further tension and instability."
