Russia expressed its concern on Thursday regarding the renewed escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and return to the negotiating table.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated during a press conference: "Moscow is concerned about the recent developments, urging the parties to the conflict to exercise restraint and return to the dialogue table."
Peskov added that the new wave of tensions between Washington and Tehran poses a threat not only to the Middle East region but could also have negative repercussions for the global economy, warning that "the increased level of tension could affect regional stability and the international economic situation".
Peskov reiterated his call for the United States and Iran to address their existing differences through dialogue and negotiation, which would contribute to resolving outstanding issues and reducing tensions.
