Instagram has launched a long-awaited feature that allows users to freely rearrange their posts on their profile, regardless of when they were published, nearly a year after announcing its development.
The feature is now available to users worldwide, giving them greater flexibility in organizing their account content and displaying posts in their preferred format.
Meta, the company behind the feature, confirmed that the rollout took longer than expected to ensure the best possible presentation, noting that it is already available to a large number of users.
The ability to rearrange posts has been one of the most requested features by Instagram users in recent years.
Alessandro Paluzzi, a researcher specializing in discovering hidden app features, first spotted the "Edit Grid" option within the app in 2022. Users can access the feature by going to their profile and long-pressing on any post.
The "Rearrange Grid" option will then appear alongside other options such as pinning or archiving the post. Users can then drag and drop posts to rearrange them on their profile in the desired order.
The pinned posts at the top of the personal page remain as they are and appear prominently within the reorder window to facilitate their management.
