The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, met today, Tuesday, with the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri, to discuss developing the education sector, ending the issue of mud and prefabricated schools, eliminating double shifts, and adopting digital transformation.
A statement issued by the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, received the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri, at his residence to discuss the educational situation in Iraq and the challenges facing the education sector."
The statement continued: "They also discussed priorities for developing the education sector, foremost among them ending the issue of mud and prefabricated schools and double shifts, expanding school building projects, adopting digital transformation, and building unified educational databases, in line with the requirements of the government program and the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on the ministerial curriculum."
During the meeting, Faihan emphasized that "the education sector is one of the most important pillars of national development, given its connection to more than 12.2 million students and over 1.1 million educational staff."
He stressed "the Parliament's commitment to supporting the Ministry through legislation and the necessary financial allocations to improve the state of education."
For his part, the Minister of Education praised "the support of the First Deputy Speaker and the Parliament for the education sector," affirming "the Ministry's determination to implement comprehensive reforms, bring about a qualitative shift in the educational environment, address the shortage of school buildings, and raise the level of educational services to meet the needs of students and educational staff throughout Iraq."
