BAGHDAD-INA

The Integrity Commission of the Kurdistan Region announced on Tuesday that financial rewards will be granted to individuals who provide information on corruption cases to the commission.

Speaking at a press conference attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the head of the commission, Ahmed Anwar, said that a decision had been issued to grant financial rewards to whistleblowers who report corruption cases after all relevant conditions and procedures are met.

He explained that the value of the reward will depend on the nature, value, and significance of the reported case, as well as the issuance of a final judicial ruling, ensuring the proper application of the law.

Anwar noted that the rewards will be disbursed in accordance with the Integrity Commission Law No. 3 of 2011, as amended by Law No. 7 of 2014, specifically Article 5, Paragraph 2/3, and Article 70, Paragraph Fifth.

He called on citizens and public employees across the Kurdistan Region to report corruption cases and contribute to combating the phenomenon at the societal level. He added that the commission has issued an official administrative directive to all state institutions to inform both citizens and employees of the new measure.

He further stated that the commission operates dedicated hotlines for reporting corruption cases and emphasized that the identity of whistleblowers will remain confidential unless the informant chooses to disclose their name.
