Al-Halbousi Emphasizes to Chaldean Patriarch the Importance of Preserving Diversity as a Cornerstone of Iraq's Identity

Speaker of Parliament, Hebat al-Halbousi, affirmed today, Saturday, to the Supreme Head of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq and the world, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona, the importance of preserving diversity as a cornerstone of Iraq's identity.

The Speaker's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Speaker of Parliament, Hebat al-Halbousi, visited the Supreme Head of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq and the world, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona, to offer his congratulations on his enthronement as Patriarch of the Chaldean Church."

The Speaker of Parliament congratulated His Beatitude the Patriarch, wishing him success in his spiritual and humanitarian mission. He affirmed his support for religious and cultural diversity in Iraq and his pride in the authentic Christian community, emphasizing the importance of preserving this diversity as a fundamental pillar of Iraq's identity.

For his part, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona expressed his gratitude for the visit and congratulations, stressing the importance of cooperation between national and religious leaders to serve Iraq and its people and to safeguard peaceful coexistence.
