Kuwait condemns Iran's 'brazen assault'

Kuwait's foreign ministry has issued a statement condemning Iran's "brazen assault" on the country.

It said the attack “shows utter indifference to the direct threat they pose to the lives of citizens and residents, as well as to the security and stability of the region”.

It added that the assault "represents a dangerous escalation that drives the region towards further tension and turmoil”.

Tehran launched missile and drone strikes targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, after US attacks on Qeshm Island and Gourk.

US Central Command says Iran fired seven missiles towards Kuwait and Bahrain, but none reached their intended targets.

Kuwait said its air defences intercepted incoming missiles and drones, while Bahrain issued public alerts amid aerial threats.
