The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) offered its condolences on Thursday on the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad, affirming that the late religious authority dedicated his life to serving Islam.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the OIC said, "With profound sorrow and grief, the OIC office in Baghdad received the news of the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad; may his soul rest in peace. He dedicated his life to serving the true Islamic faith and the Hawza (seminary) in Najaf and contributed his knowledge, jurisprudence, and wise stances to serving the Muslim Ummah.”

“We share in your great loss; we express our sincere condolences and sympathies to his family, to the esteemed religious authorities and scholars, and to the entire Muslim Ummah, asking Almighty God to grant him His abundant mercy and to inspire everyone with patience and solace," OIC added.
