National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji and the head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, Fayyadh Muhammad Abdul Al-Dulaimi, said on Sunday that coordination between regulatory bodies is a key pillar for protecting society and supporting the economy.
A statement from the media office of the National Security Adviser, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that Al-Araji received Al-Dulaimi in an important meeting that discussed enhancing institutional cooperation to protect consumers and support Iraq’s economic security system.
The statement added that Al-Dulaimi conveyed Eid al-Adha greetings during the meeting, wishing continued health and success to Al-Araji, the staff of the advisory office, and the Iraqi people.
It noted that both sides discussed unifying efforts between the two institutions to improve quality control systems, combat goods that do not meet specifications, and strengthen consumer protection measures to ensure public safety and reinforce trust in products circulating in Iraqi markets.
Both sides affirmed that consumer security constitutes a fundamental part of national security, and that integration between regulatory and security bodies represents an important pillar for protecting society and supporting economic stability, as well as ensuring the application of the highest standards of quality and safety across various sectors.
The statement added that the visit comes within the framework of ongoing government coordination aimed at strengthening the efficiency of national institutions and protecting Iraqi markets from harmful practices and substandard goods, in a way that serves the public interest and enhances security and stability across the country.
