Al-Halbousi: Resolving outstanding issues is important between the government and the Region

Parliament Speaker Haybat al-Halbousi emphasized on Saturday the importance of resolving outstanding issues between the government and the Kurdistan Region in accordance with the constitution.

"Al-Halbousi received the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Masrour Barzani, and his accompanying delegation," said a statement from the Speaker's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

During the meeting, they discussed “the general situation in the country and the importance of supporting the government in implementing its program and successfully fulfilling its duties to provide services to citizens and meet their needs.”

The Speaker of Parliament stressed "the importance of resolving outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region in accordance with the constitution, and overcoming obstacles and current challenges."

In turn, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region affirmed, "The pivotal role played by the Parliament is important, as a legislative institution concerned with serving all components and resolving contentious issues."
