The President of the Republic, Nazar Amedi, emphasized on Thursday the importance of continuing the partnership with the United Nations.

The Media Department of the Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Nazar Amedi, received today at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Iraq, Ghulam Mohammad Isaczai, and his accompanying delegation, who extended their congratulations on the occasion of his assumption of the office of President of the Republic."

According to the statement, the meeting discussed "ways to enhance joint cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations, particularly in supporting developmental and humanitarian programs, and coordinating efforts aimed at consolidating stability and supporting reform plans in the country."

The President of the Republic emphasized "the importance of continuing the partnership with the United Nations," praising "the role of the international organization in supporting Iraq and assisting its institutions."

He pointed out that "Iraq continues to work on consolidating stability and enhancing development pathways across various sectors," explaining the importance of the United Nations' support for government efforts and programs aimed at achieving sustainable development and providing an environment supportive of progress and prosperity.

For his part, Ghulam Mohammad Isaczai expressed "the United Nations' appreciation for the existing cooperation with Iraq," reaffirming "the organization's commitment to continuing coordination with the relevant authorities in a way that supports national priorities and enhances joint efforts in various fields."
