The Police Command of Najaf Governorate announced today, Thursday, the commencement of a comprehensive security and organizational plan to secure the pilgrimage commemorating the martyrdom of Muslim ibn Aqil (PBUH). The plan involves various security and service formations, with assurances that visitor traffic will remain fluid without any road closures throughout the pilgrimage period.

Colonel Mufeed Salem Al-Tahir, the official spokesperson for the Command, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Najaf Police Command has developed an integrated security and organizational plan specifically for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain’s ambassador, Muslim ibn Aqil (PBUH), with the participation of various security and service departments."

He added, "The plan includes establishing organizational and traffic routes, alongside a dedicated Civil Defense plan, in cooperation with the Imam Ali Combat Division and intelligence agencies.

This aims to secure the atmosphere of the pilgrimage, ensure the smooth flow of visitor movement, and protect the Husseini processions."

Al-Tahir explained that "the plan involved dividing the Kufa Police Directorate sector into three security zones to enhance deployment and streamline field duties," noting that "the Police Chief of Najaf Governorate, Major General Muhammad Jaber Zhiab Al-Fatlawi, is directly supervising the field execution of the security plan."

He emphasized that "roads will remain fully open to citizens and visitors without any traffic closures, in coordination with the Department of Husseini Rituals, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow throughout the days of the occasion."
