The Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Monday the arrest of a drug dealer and the seizure of 30,000 narcotic pills in Anbar.
The Directorate stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that, “In implementation of the continuous directives of the Director of Military Intelligence, which emphasize the elimination of the scourge of drugs and the arrest of their dealers and promoters, and based on accurate intelligence information and continuous follow-up by the intelligence and security departments in the Fifth and Tenth Infantry Divisions affiliated with the Directorate, the detachments of Military Intelligence of the Fifth Division were able to control more than 30,000 narcotic pills in the Anbar desert that were prepared for smuggling and promotion.”
It added that "in another operation, the intelligence detachments of the Tenth Infantry Division were able to arrest the drug dealer wanted under Article 28 of the Narcotics Law, and the seized items and the wanted person were dealt with according to the established procedures."
