Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday congratulated Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on his government winning the confidence of the Iraqi Parliament.
Pezeshkian said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Prime Minister of Iraq Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, I congratulate you and the brotherly Iraqi people on the occasion of the government winning parliamentary confidence and commencing its duties.”
He added: “I hope the new phase, based on the deep ties between our two peoples, will witness a new chapter of strategic cooperation.”
He further said: “Iran will remain alongside Iraq in the path of development and strengthening security.”
