The Head of the Iraqi National Security Service Abdul Karim Al-Basri on Friday congratulated Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on winning parliamentary confidence for his government.
He said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “this national confidence reflects the responsibility placed on the government and confidence in its ability to lead the country towards greater stability and development and achieve the aspirations of the Iraqi people.”
He added that the coming phase is expected to see further progress in state institutions and strengthened security and service efforts to consolidate stability and protect Iraq’s national security.
He affirmed support for the government’s programme in a way that serves the public interest and enhances stability.
