Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that Iran has established itself as an effective regional power and influential actor, adding that the recent war marked a turning point that elevated Iran’s regional and international standing.

Araghchi said Iran has demonstrated its ability to confront major powers, adding that BRICS countries now view Iran differently following what he described as the failure of the U.S. aggression against it.

He added that all countries now acknowledge Iran as the victor in the war, saying it succeeded in imposing its will and thwarting the objectives of its adversaries.

The Iranian foreign minister said many countries now believe the future of the region requires a new approach that takes into account the realities produced by the recent conflict, stressing that the war represented a major turning point that significantly enhanced Iran’s position.

“This is the time for Iran to assert its position and expand its regional role more than ever before,” he said.

He also stated that the United Arab Emirates had supported the United States and (Israeli entity) during the conflict, claiming there is “accurate information and clear documents” to support this, and adding that Iran only targeted U.S. positions on Emirati territory.

Araghchi said Iran avoided raising the issue to preserve BRICS unity, but responded after the UAE representative brought it up, advising that (Israel) and the United States cannot provide security for the UAE.

He concluded by urging the UAE to reconsider its policy toward Iran, stressing that the two countries are neighbors with a shared history and future, and that regional security should be based on cooperation among regional states rather than reliance on foreign powers.
