Axios reported on Monday that US President Donald Trump will meet with his national security team today to discuss a potential war with Iran.

The website quoted officials as saying that "President Donald Trump will meet today with his national security team to discuss the way forward in a war with Iran, including possibly a resumption of military action, after negotiations with the country reached an impasse yesterday, Sunday."

The officials added that "Trump is leaning toward some form of military action against Iran to increase pressure on it and extract concessions on its nuclear program," explaining, "We don't believe Trump will order military action against Iran before he returns from China."

A US official anticipated that "Vance, Woitkoff, Rubio, Higseth, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the CIA Director will participate in the meeting."
