US Central Command announced on Friday that it had disabled two Iranian vessels, stating that its forces are committed to enforcing the blockade on ships entering Iran.

In a press statement, the Command stated that “two Iranian vessels were disabled,” explaining that “blockade measures were imposed on two empty tankers flying the Iranian flag.”

It added that “the two tankers were attempting to dock at an Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman;” noting that “precision munitions were fired at the tankers, preventing them from entering Iran.”

The Command confirmed that “the number of tankers disabled since May 6 has increased,” indicating that “our forces are committed to enforcing the blockade on ships entering or leaving Iran.”
